Flowers vs. Boys
This could be your next favorite show, whether you're new to K-dramas or looking for an oldie but goodie to stream. The 2009 South Korean program, based on a Japanese manga series, follows Geum Jan-di (Ku Hye-sun), a working-class student who attends the renowned Shinhwa School. She meets a powerful circle of wealthy male students while she's there. She struggles to find her place in the school throughout the course of the 25 episodes while also falling in love with one of the students.
Itaewon Class is a high school in Itaewon, South
Park Sae Ro Yi (Park Seo-joon) attempts to avenge his father's death but ends himself in prison. Years later, he finishes his sentence and starts Danbam, a restaurant in Seoul's Itaewon neighborhood. He still seeks vengeance on the Jangga Group, whom he feels is responsible for his father's death and imprisonment.
The Small Things
Kavya Kulkarni (Mithila Palkar) and Dhruv Vats (Dhruv Sehgal) are twenty-somethings in Mumbai attempting to figure out their lives. Throughout the three seasons of the show, viewers watch as the couple's relationship develops and is tested as they must travel long distances. The Indian rom-com drama initially aired in 2016, and a fourth season is expected to air this year on Netflix.
Tokyo Stories: Midnight Diner
This Japanese Netflix series is based on the manga of the same name and follows Meshiya, a diner in Shinjuku, Tokyo. Because it's open from midnight to 7 a.m., residents call it the Midnight Diner. The restaurant is headed by a chef who goes by the moniker Master (Kaoru Kobayashi). He'll make consumers whatever they want as long as he has the ingredients on hand. He learns about their life while they eat his meal.
Women of a Million Yen
Shin Michima (Yôjirô Noda), a struggling novelist, encounters five women who knock on his door one by one, claiming to have received an invitation to live with him. Each woman arrives prepared to pay a million yen in rent each month. Shin can't interrogate them about who they are, what they do for a living, or why they're there in exchange. But, with time, the truth begins to emerge.
Games of the Gods
Sacred Games was called one of the top worldwide TV shows of the 2010s by the New York Times for a reason. The drama features police officer Sartaj Singh (Saif Ali Khan) as he tries to halt a terrorist assault in Mumbai coordinated by Ganesh Gaitonde, and is based on a thriller novel by novelist Vikram Chandra (Nawazuddin Siddiqui). The only problem is that he has no idea where to begin and only has 25 days.
A Tale of Two Cities in Taiwan
When San Francisco engineer Josephine Huang (Peggy Tseng) and Taipei doctor Lee Nien-Nien (Tammy Chen) meet, they are both dealing with personal issues. Rather than attempting to manage them alone, the two ladies decide to swap lives. Moving to a different city, they've discovered, doesn't always mean that their troubles go away.
Goodnights a Thousand
Dai Tian-qing (Cindy Yu-Han Lien) embarks on a journey around Taiwan to discover more about her departed father and to respect his life. She discovers love and salvation while meeting people who are close to her father.
