Watching Korean dramas is like stepping into another world full of endearing characters and surprising story twists. When we started watching a new Drama, the warm feeling and tension began to grow. The OST first captured our hearts, then the storyline stayed with us till the drama ended and the characters stole our hearts. They have a natural wholesomeness to them. In one show, you'll find thrillers, comedies, tension, lovely characters, superficial characters, and plenty of Korean food and fashion. As a result, the Hallyu wave is sweeping the globe. The KissAsian website featured the latest movie and series list.
1. Korean dramas have a large number of episodes and OSTs.
Korean dramas are usually limited to 16 to 30 episodes. The majority of them only have 16 episodes. Dramas were able to tell more storylines in less time because of this unique feature. As a result, we never get bored while watching dramas because the tale takes fresh twists and turns at every turn. Every game features at least 6 to 7 OSTs, each with a different melody for each new plot.
2. The cinematography in Korean dramas
Their filming abilities are exceptional and artistic. South Korean dramas use so many light colors and superb lighting that your eyesight will not be impacted whether you watch them at night or during the day. Goblin, a Korean drama, is full of excellent images with a lot of symmetry and well-managed small elements. The way the filmmaker selects settings for scenes is commendable. Scenes and settings seem to be tailor-made for each other.
3. The use of science fiction
The stuff we dismiss as juvenile and nonsensical is regularly used by Korean business in their narratives in such a beautiful way that no one wants to ignore those characters, such as Angels, Mermaids, Nine-tailed Fox, Deities, Imoogis, Vampires, and so on. Korean dramas taught me that goblins and grim reapers have lives of their own. They are full of feelings and, more importantly, they may also be attractive.
4. It is suitable for a family.
In contrast to Hollywood, where bed scenes and intense kissing scenes are all that depicts their love, Korean dramas contain a lot of lovely romance that takes time to create chemistry between male and female leads. Extraordinary You are one of the family-friendly dramas in which the tale revolves around the female lead Eun Dan-oh (Kim Hye-Voon) and her path of becoming the main character of her own life despite the fact that she is an extra who is meant to die in another story. That drama only included a couple of kissing sequences, so don't expect any bed scenes. Many Korean dramas, on the other hand, contain adult content.
5. Constantly changing content
Korean dramas have the power to elevate your spirits and might even make you addicted to them. They're chock-full of unique content you've never heard of before. Currently airing Korean drama Doom At Your Service is a story about a doom and a human's love affair. Forget about the doom and human love story; I honestly never imagined doom being portrayed as human-like.
6. A roller-coaster ride of emotions
Emotions abound in Korean dramas. They are brimming with a variety of emotions. Every narrative is a mix of different feelings. For example, the Korean drama Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo can be described as a roller-coaster ride because it begins with stress, then transitions to humor, and lastly to sadness.
7. The second lead, often known as the second lead syndrome.
Due to his or her charm, becoming the second lead in a Korean drama will gain an actor or actress further renown. Because of their never-ending one-sided crush on the main protagonists, these characters are more memorable. Han Ji-Pyeong (Kim Seon-Ho) from Start-Up is a well-known second main character in Korean dramas. He had secretly written love letters to the female main character Dal Mi (Bae Suzi) since childhood, and despite knowing this, she chooses Nam Do-San (Nam Joo-Hyuk) over him. It breaks my heart to see that second leads didn't obtain a female while possessing so many wonderful traits.
8. The plot has a lot of twists and turns.
Korean dramas are full of unexpected turns. Almost every episode introduces a new element to the plot. He is Psychometric, a Korean drama, is an example of how the plot was curated by twists and turns. When I first saw some of the show's earlier episodes, I couldn't believe that the guy who was trying to help the major characters in the plot was also the main cause why their lives were in such a mess. The main perpetrator also has Alexithymia sickness (inability to perceive emotions), which produces chaos in everyone's lives.
9. A mix of modern and historical elements
One of the most popular trends in the Korean drama industry is the blending of present and historical ages. It mostly deals with things like time travel and reincarnation. Mr. Queen, for example, is a hilarious fantasy time-travel drama that combines a complicated combination of features including humor, romance, modern and classic sensibilities, and gender-bending. The primary male character is a modern-day child, but his soul time travels and becomes trapped in the body of a Joseon princess. I had no idea where the tale was headed when I first started watching this drama.
10. Get a thrill on a whole new level
Korean dramas aren't just about romance; they're also about suspense. The Korean drama industry is rich with suspense, court drama, cult following, crime, mysteries, and other dramas with blood-pumping action. Vagabond, Healer, K2, Abyss, Suspicious companion, Hello monster, save me, and so on are just a few examples. Flower of Evil is one of my favorite thriller dramas because it demonstrates that there are many layers to the truth, each of which is fascinating and complicated in its own way.
